Lun Man-chui whose originally name Dicky Cheung and Aaron Kwok whose given name in the film as Lau Sin-hoi are studying in Ming College. These two guys always disputed with each other regarding many issues including love and fame. Lun who comes a poor family yet one of very smart scholars often plays tricks on others for fun. Lun, however, supports by many villagers when he departed for this college.

Lau, on the other hand, is an honest, handsome and intellectual man. He loves to a Kung Fu fighter since early age. He was doing martial arts since he was a kid. Lau comes from a quite rich family so he does not need to take care of the family and his daily life, except studying.

These two boys, Lun and Lau, are both fell in love iwth their beautiful classmate Ching-ching (Vivian Chow). Of course, she is beautiful and not only these two guys want her but many boys in the college and entire community. Ching-ching is Headmaster Heung's (Ng Man-tat) niece as such she has quite powerful role in school. It is also important to note that in those ancient day, female students were not allowed to study in school but Ching-Ching was pretty lucky since she has a head of the school as her relative. Otherwise, she won’t have such a good chance to study at all.

Every year, there is a competition and that the winner is supposed to be very famous. And that this famous school will receive more students enrol in. So, many schools in this particular town are competing for the champoin.

Leuven has several times been besieged or occupied by foreign armies; these include the Battle of Leuven (891), Siege of Leuven (1635) and Battle of Leuven (1831).

Both world wars in the 20th century inflicted major damage upon the city. Upon Germany's entry into World War I, the town was heavily damaged by rampaging soldiers. Some German soldiers shot the burgomaster, the university rector and all of the city's police officers. In all, about 300 civilians lost their lives. The university library was also destroyed on 25 August 1914, using petrol and incendiary pastilles. 230,000 volumes were lost in the destruction, including Gothic and Renaissance manuscripts, a collection of 750 medieval manuscripts, and more than 1,000 incunabula (books printed before 1501). The destruction of the library shocked the world, with the Daily Chronicle describing it as war not only against civilians but also against "posterity to the utmost generation." It was rebuilt after the war, and much of the collection was replaced. Great Britain (on the initiative of the John Rylands Library, Manchester) and the United States were major providers of material for the replenishment of the collection. The new library building was financed by the National Committee of the United States for the Restoration of the University of Louvain and built to the design of architect Whitney Warren; it was officially opened on 4 July 1928.
